Game Notes
  • The Mets rank fourth among National League teams for wins in interleague play with 102, behind NL East foes Florida (110), Montreal/Washington (105), and Atlanta (105).
  • The Mets are now 10-10 all-time against the Red Sox in interleague action, and 5-6 at Fenway Park.
  • The Mets are attempting to post a winning record in interleague play this season for the third consecutive year, which will be the first time they have ever accomplished that feat.
  • Tim Redding has abysmal numbers against the Red Sox, but his last start against them was almost four years ago in July of 2005 when he played for the Yankees.
  • Jerry Manuel has stated Frankie Rodriguez could be available as soon as today after being taken to the hospital for severe back spasms prior to last night's game. Jose Reyes could return as soon as Monday, but the Mets do not plan to rush him back too soon.

Boy, wouldn't a sweep be nice today? I mean, I honestly had a bad feeling about this series before it started, and really thought the chances we would be swept and hit a seven-game skid were high. However, the Mets have really turned it around with some big hits, great pitching, and a little luck as they are the ones attempting the sweep today.

Let's Go Redding, and Let's Go Mets!
