His double today was his second extra base hit during that stretch. Bryan Morris had a bad outing, giving up two earned runs in two innings. He had combined for five runs in 19 innings over his previous nine games. Brock Holt made his Triple-A debut, going 1-for-3 with a walk.

Quincy Latimore hit his 14th homer of the year, putting him one shy of last year’s totals with 128 fewer at-bats. Matt Curry hit his 29th double. Ramon Cabrera had his fifth multi-hit game in his last nine games.

Game Notes: Bradenton was held to two hits through the first eight innings. Dan Grovatt extended his hitting streak to seven games, with five doubles and one triple during that stretch. Quinton Miller gave up four runs in an inning of work, with most of his damage coming on a three run homer.

In his last six starts, Holmes has given up one earned run in 29.2 innings with a 18:12 K/BB ratio. He’s only given up 19 hits on the season, with eight in those last six starts. Chris Diaz hit his first career home run as a pro.
