Game Notes: Phil Irwin threw his second complete game in a row. It was his fifth start in a row in which he went at least six innings and gave up just one earned run. Quincy Latimore gave Irwin all the support he would need in the first inning with a one out, three run homer. Ramon Cabrera and Matt Curry each added RBI’s, helping the Curve win game one of the doubleheader.

Game Notes: Michael Colla pitched  four scoreless innings to start the game, then Jeff Inman and Victor Black combined on three shutout inning to finish the game. Colla had not made a start early May, so he was on a limited pitch count. He ended up throwing 52 pitches, 37 for strikes. Matt Curry drove home Brock Holt with the only run of the game in the sixth inning. Holt singled, stole a base, Adalberto Santos then walked, before Curry drove home the game winner.

Mesa hit a three-run homer in the second inning with one out and Ngoepe and Dickerson drove in the other two runs. For Dickerson, he now has 70 RBI’s, tops in the Florida State League

Game Notes: Jefferson started this game, which originally began Friday night but was suspended in the third inning due to rain, with the Power up 7-1. When play resumed, Robert Kilcrease took over and threw two scoreless innings, followed by another two scoreless from Porfirio Lopez. All four hits from Polanco drove in a run as WV finished off the suspended game in seven innings by a 9-1 score. The only player in the lineup who did not collect a hit was Taylor Lewis, and he scored two runs and drove in another.

Game Notes: Willy Garcia played his first game in eight days and homered for the Power’s only run of the game. Rowland pitched a complete game, with a 13:1 GO/AO ratio. It was the first career complete game for Rowland. West Virginia had three stolen bases this game after collecting six steals in the first game.

Game Notes  Dalton Friend followed Creasy with three scoreless innings for the win and Jordan Cooper pitched a scoreless ninth for the SAVE. Barnes now has a team leading 18 RBI’s. Everyone in the starting lineup except Chris Diaz had a hit, though Gaffney’s double was the only extra base hit.

Game Notes: Cesar Lopez had his best outing since signing for $600k early last year. The only base runner he allowed was a second inning single(another runner reached on an error). It was his first win as a pro and he has now surpassed his inning total from last year(23.2 to 22). He was facing a Yankees lineup that had led the team to a 19-10 record and they also had two major league players with the team on rehab. The Pirates 8th round pick from this year, Kevin Ross, drove home two runs with a double in the second inning. It was his first hit as a pro.
