He had a rough first start, but has since settled down, and now has a 3.38 ERA in 29.1 innings, with a 25:8 K/BB ratio and a high ground ball rate. That’s similar to his 2012 numbers with Altoona, when he had a 3.84 ERA in 152/1 innings, along with an 88:46 K/BB ratio and a 2.04 GO/AO ratio. So far his strikeouts are up, which is an encouraging sign. Felix Pie has gone 4-for-10 with a homer and three stolen bases in the last two games. I still think Andrew Lambo should take his place. Tony Sanchez hit his seventh double of the year.   AA: ALTOONA CURVE   Box Score Result: Altoona 3, Harrisburg 1 Starting Pitcher: Jameson Taillon, RHP (2-4, 3.26) – 3.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Andrew Lambo, 1B (.281) – 1-for-3, HR Other Notable Performers: Gift Ngoepe, SS (.122) – 1-for-3, 2B, BB, SB Game Notes: Jameson Taillon left the game in the fourth inning after taking a line drive off his leg. He walked off the field under his own power, and was replaced by Nate Baker. Baker allowed both inherited runners to score, giving Taillon two more runs. Taillon gave up two in the first inning, which were both unearned. Baker and Jhonathan Ramos combined to give up nine more runs. Andrew Lambo hit his sixth homer of the year, but more importantly was playing first base with Matt Curry on the DL. That could open another path for Lambo to eventually move up to Triple-A.   A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS Box Score Result: Dunedin 3, Bradenton 1 Starting Pitcher: Eliecer Navarro, LHP (0-6, 3.57) – 5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 HR Top Hitter: Benji Gonzalez, 3B (.272) – 1-for-4, HR Other Notable Performers: Alen Hanson, SS (.239) – 1-for-3, BB, SB Game Notes: Eliecer Navarro might be 0-6, but he’s having a pretty good season. In 35.1 innings he has a 3.57 ERA and a 33:7 K/BB ratio. In his last two starts he has struck out 15 in 11 innings. Benji Gonzalez hit his first homer of the year. Alen Hanson stole his eighth base of the year, but is only hitting for a .239 average on the season.   Tyler Glasnow struck out a career high 10 batters. A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER Box Score Result: West Virginia 4, Greenville 2 Starting Pitcher: Tyler Glasnow, RHP (2-0, 1.80) – 5.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 10 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Raul Fortunato, LF (.262) – 2-for-3, BB, RBI Other Notable Performers: Josh Bell, RF (.280) – 2-for-5 Stetson Allie, DH (.345) – 0-for-3, BB Jason Creasy, RHP (4.05) – 2.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 0 HR Game Notes: Tyler Glasnow struck out a career high 10 batters, which came one start after setting a career high of seven strikeouts in a game. He’s the first West Virginia pitcher to strike out ten since Kyle McPherson in on May 9th, 2010. On the season Glasnow has a 1.80 ERA in 25 innings, with a 33:17 K/BB ratio. Control is his main problem, but he has only given up 11 hits on the year. Showing how it’s still early in the season, Stetson Allie saw his average drop ten points with an 0-for-3 night. In his last five games, Jason Creasy has combined for seven shutout innings, with four hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts.
