Cole had given up one homer in 36.1 innings coming into this game. One positive is that he only walked one, and has five walks in 19 innings in his last three starts, after 15 walks in 23.1 innings in his first five starts. Tony Sanchez hit his third homer of the year. He also hit a double for the fifth straight game. Sanchez now has a double in seven of his last nine games. After today’s game, Sanchez has a .294/.400/.518 line, and a .224 ISO.   AA: ALTOONA CURVE   Box Score Result: Altoona 5, Trenton 3 Starting Pitcher: Luis Sanz, RHP (2-1, 3.63) – 5.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Carlos Paulino, C (.186) – 2-for-2, 2 BB Other Notable Performers: Andrew Lambo, 1B (.299) – 2-for-5 Adalberto Santos, 3B (.303) – 1-for-4, 3B Game Notes: Adalberto Santos started the season with 19 games in a row where he reached base safely. He went three games in a row where he didn’t reach base before tonight. Tonight he got back on track with a triple. Andrew Lambo keeps hitting, and now has a .299/.357/.518 line in 137 at-bats. In the month of May he has a .326/.375/.651 line in 43 at-bats.   A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS Box Score Result: Bradenton 8, Clearwater 7 Starting Pitcher: Nick Kingham, RHP (3.79) – 0.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 HR Top Hitter: Alen Hanson, SS (.264) – 2-for-4, 2B, HR, BB Other Notable Performers: Benji Gonzalez, 3B (.292) – 4-for-4, 2B, BB Jose Osuna, 1B (.264) – 2-for-4, 2B, BB, SB Game Notes: Alen Hanson hit his first homer of the year tonight, with the homer coming at a key moment. Hanson led off the top of the ninth inning with a solo shot, giving the Marauders an 8-7 lead, which eventually was enough to win. He also added his sixth double of the season. Benji Gonzalez went 4-for-4 on the night, and is now hitting for a .292/.370/.407 line. Nick Kingham had his worst start of the year, being removed in the first inning after reaching a single inning pitch limit.   A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER Box Score Result: Hickory 2, West Virginia 1 Starting Pitcher: Joely Rodriguez, LHP (2-3, 3.14) – 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Eric Wood, 3B (.297) – 2-for-4 Other Notable Performers: Dilson Herrera, 2B (.299) – 2-for-4 Game Notes: Joely Rodriguez has given up two earned runs in 23.1 innings over his last four starts, with a 20:3 K/BB ratio. On the season he has a 3.14 ERA in 43 innings, with a 36:12 K/BB ratio. Rodriguez is also getting a lot of ground balls, with a 2.19 GO/AO ratio. Josh Bell and Stetson Allie each went 0-for-3, but Dilson Herrera continued his hitting, going 2-for-4. It was the fourth straight game that Herrera had multiple hits.
