One thing is certain: that facial hair is hideous. The Rays are in town to start the second half of the season, and with them comes Red Sox nation’s favorite player to hate: Luke Scott. As to be expected Scott has been greeted with greater heckling than most when visiting Fenway, the media has ripped on him, and of course, social media networks explode with insults heaped on Scott when he faces the Red Sox. But why is that? Let’s take a look at some of the things Scott has done to potentially earn this treatment. In 2011, while playing with the Orioles, Scott made some questionable remarks that had people wondering if the baseball player is racist. Among other things, he also insisted that President Obama was not born in the United States and thus not a U.S. citizen.
