Rafael Soriano‘s bullpen session did not go well and the Yankees may have yet another problem on their hands.
The right-hander once again felt stiffness in his right elbow during a throwing session before tonight’s game against the Rays. He is being evaluated by team trainers, manager Joe Girardi said through a team spokesman, who hope to determine what the next step will be.
Initial MRI’s came back negative, but the Yankees are sending him to see the team’s doctor to double check things. Soriano also told the media that the team’s vice president, Felix Lopez, told him to take a week or two off before returning to action to try to put the injury behind him.
First, he’ll go in for the tests though and even though the first round came out clean, they could discover something they overlooked the first time through. Elbow injuries certainly aren’t career threatening in the way shoulder injuries are,...
