The Reds finally placed Ramon Hernandez on the disabled list for his ailing knee. I think it was a matter of not having a replacement ready. But, the Reds brought up Ryan Hanigan. They finally felt like he was ready to catch back to back games if needed. He had been on the disabled list with a broken left thumb. He got hurt on May 28th. He was a hitting machine before his injury. He was hitting .351 when he went on the dl. He will share duties with Corky Miller but Hanigan should get the majority of the starts. He already has a career high in rbis this season.
