Fox Sports Southwest:
ARLINGTON, Texas The Rangers activated right-hander Koji Uehara from the disabled list Sunday and sent right-hander Tanner Scheppers to Round Rock.
Uehara missed 65 games with a strained right lat. Uehara, who had a 2.11 ERA before he got hurt, hasn't pitched for the Rangers since June 9.
He made two rehab appearances and is hoping pitching over the next month will give him time to build his confidence up.
"We only have a month left in the regular season and I wish I could enjoy the rest of the season," Uehara said. "It all depends on my mental side of the game. As long as I get confidence, I will be able to feel the best."
Scheppers made 29 appearances for the Rangers since coming up June 7. He was 1-0 with a 4.56 ERA. He won't be in Round Rock long as the Rangers plan to bring him back to Arlington as soon as the Express season ends.
"Scheppers certainly did make a good impression but he has options," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "He'll only be gone a week. He put himself in a position that he's a piece that we can have in that bullpen as we move forward in the future. He did a great job."

Adrian Beltre, who had a three homer game as well as hit for the cycle last week, was named American League player of the week.
Beltre hit .433 for the week with five home runs and nine RBIs. He led the major leagues in slugging, OPS, total bases, extra-base hits, home runs and hits.
Beltre did all that despite going hitless Saturday and Sunday against Minnesota. He made up for...
Michael Young has long been the poster boy of the analytic crowd when it comes to poking holes in empty superstars. His fielding--or lack thereof--has greatly reduced the value of his offensive benefits over the years to put him on that poster. But all fielding aside, the guy has always been a good offensive player for the Rangers. In his eleven seasons, Baseball-reference.com has...
ARLINGTON, Texas The Texas Rangers may be in an offensive slump.
They went scoreless after the third inning Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.
Of course, that followed a start to the game in which the Rangers jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three innings on their way to a 9-3 victory over the Twins.
Texas has now scored at least eight runs in the last four games, just the sixth...
ARLINGTON, Texas -- A game that featured some sloppy defense by the Rangers had one sparkling play near the end Sunday.
Craig Gentry leaped up and reached over the center field wall to rob the Twins' Joe Mauer of a two-run homer in the top of the ninth.
The Rangers trailed, 6-5, at the time and two more runs would have all but sunk their comeback chances. The Rangers failed...
Texas Rangers outfielder Craig Gentry made two amazing catches on Sunday, including a home run saving catch to rob Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer.
The first excellent grab occurred in the fifth inning when Gentry and second baseman Ian Kinsler collided in short center field. Kinsler collided with Gentry, but the fourth year player from the University of Arkansas held onto the...
It wasn’t but two weeks ago that Adrian Beltre was mired in a slump at the plate. Fast forward to this week where he is currently hitting over .500, and you’ll find that his production has changed drastically.
Beltre delivered the second three-homer game of his career on Wednesday in his first three at-bats, and followed that performance by hitting for the cycle for the second...
Texas Rangers starter Scott Feldman hasn't received much support lately.
That's somewhat hard to believe considering how the two-time reigning AL champions have been hitting the ball.
Feldman will try to avoid a fourth consecutive losing start Sunday when Texas goes for a fifth straight victory overall and its first four-game home sweep of the Minnesota Twins in 25 years...
The Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers have met in the postseason each of the last two years. The results of their six head-to-head matchups over the next two weeks may determine whether they'll have the chance to square off in October yet again.
Rays starter David Price seeks another stellar performance when Tampa Bay visits Texas in the opener of a three-game series Monday night...
Hot News for P Tanner Scheppers
I was pleasantly surprised on Saturday when Ryan Dempster broke his good game-bad game pattern yesterday with a decent outing that ended up being a win. All we needed was another decent start from Scott Feldman for a four-game sweep of the Twins.
So close and yet so far.
Six runs on ten hits in 5.2 innings is not a decent start, Feldman. Not at all. Sure, only five of those...
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Adrian Beltre was 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs, including the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning, to lead the Texas Rangers to a 6-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night.
Elvis Andrus scored on Beltre's single to give the AL West leaders a series-opening win.
Nelson Cruz also homered and Mike Olt added an RBI for Texas...
Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer had a potential home run brought back into the park by Texas Rangers center fielder Craig Gentry yesterday. And that was after Gentry was body checked by, hard, by...
