The Rangers took fans on a rollercoaster tonight. One that starts out really terrible and ends really awesome. I don’t think I’d care to go on a ride like that if it exists in real life. And my baseball heart certainly doesn’t need them in metaphor version either. But if it ends in a win like that, I really don’t want to complain.
Yu Darvish struck out the side in the first inning and then set the Angels down in order in the 2nd. He was looking really sharp. Then came the 3rd … back-to-back one-out walks and then two fielder’s choice hits, and a throwing error by Ian Kinsler broke the scoreless game. And then a home run by Albert Pujols. And then two more walks. And a two-run double. The Angels scored six times, and if you’ve been watching the Rangers (or reading these posts) lately, you’ll understand why I figured the game was over right then. I didn’t think there was any way my boys put up more than six runs tonight.
