Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, who has sent to a Surprise hospital Friday morning, came through a series of tests on his chests without any issues as all the results were negative.
Cruz is expected to be released from the Del Webb Medical Center in Surprise this afternoon. Hes expected to resume baseball activities as early as Saturday.
He was sent to the hospital as a precaution as the team was trying to rule out anything other than a muscle problem for Cruz.
Cruz, whose name surfaced as part of the performance-enhancing drug scandal in Miami, was scheduled to play for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic. He homered in his first at-bat this spring in an intrasquad game. In five spring games, hes hitting .214 with a home run and five RBIs.
