Texas Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison has been too busy this offseason to worry about what the club is trying to do with its pitching staff. "If they feel they can bring in someone to help them a little better, that's what they need to do," he said. "I'm not really too worried about it. I have the same goals I did last year. We'll see where it goes. It's kind of tough to swallow when your name always comes up, but we'll see where it goes." There are no guarantees Oswalt will wind up with the Range...

Almost forgotten in the "Rangers didn't get Fielder," story line which has eclipsed all other news this week, is that, yes, the Rangers signed Yu Darvish. Without thinking about it deeply, Darvish simply rolls into C.J. Wilson's vacated slot since Wilson signed with the Angels. But it's far more complicated than, "Darvish equals Wilson." Rangers, Hamilton: Still talking, still no deal

With Prince Fielder off the market it would seem like general manager Jon Daniels and the Rangers' front office would have the majority of their attention focused on getting a long-term deal done with Josh Hamilton. Daniels said Friday there have been talks with Hamilton's representatives and those conversations will continue with the hopes of something being finalized by...

Uehara Says No to Trade

On Tuesday we talked about Texas Rangers reliever Koji Uehara and how he's pretty much the odd man out of a re-tooled bullpen heading into the 2012 season. And it's too bad, really. Uehara came from Baltimore at the trade deadline with all kinds of fanfare, a sick ERA and an even sicker ratio of strikeouts to walks. And as we discussed on Tuesday, Uehara sadly fell flat on...

Rangers' Washington won't concede anything in AL

The wounds are still fresh. The Texas Rangers' bitter World Series loss to the St. Louis Cardinals is still just a few months old, and the memory of another dream deferred is all too real. But Texas manager Ron Washington is a 59-year-old lifer who will tell you he's never pocketed a dime outside the game of baseball. So he's not the type to lather syrup on facts or eschew the truth.
