Adams has been hampered by the injury, which is basically a
sore neck, during the end of the regular season, and it ultimately kept him off of the Rangers’ Wild-Card playoff roster. While the injury isn’t seen as
something that’s extremely serious, it seems to impact pitchers more than
position players and clearly limited Adams at the end of the year.
The surgery isn’t expected to impact the start of Adam’s
2013 campaign. The 34-year-old maintained an ERA of 3.27 over 61 appearances
with 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings and 2.9 walks per nine innings this
