ARLINGTON, Texas Fans in mourning over the loss of the Great Bratbino at Rangers Ballpark now have reason for hope. The two-foot long bratwurst, which was named for Josh Hamilton, is no longer on the concession menu at the park as the outfielder now places for the Los Angeles Angels. But it's been replaced by the likes of the "Totally Rossome" Boomstick, the Sausage Slugger, the Beltre Buster and the Murph-a-Dilla. These delights, made for families but devoured routinely by individuals, are making their debut at Rangers Ballpark this season as part of the new main course concessions which were unveiled Thursday. The new items aren't for the faint of heart or budget conscious. Most come with a sticker price of 26, with the big-ticket item being the 32 "Totally Rossome" Boomstick, named for reliever Robbie Ross. For the budget conscious, you can get a two-foot long pretzel with nacho cheese for just 13. What do you get for 32? Of course it starts with a two-foot long Nolan Ryan beef hotdog. It's then topped with smoked brisket, fresh pico, sour cream and nacho-cheese Doritos. Nowhere on any of the concession stands that offer the new monster items is any nutritional information. "We don't count calories," said Shawn Mattox, the general manager of the Sportservice concession group. Mattox also said the food isn't meant for one person, although he knows that was a frequent occurrence last year. The prices are meant to reflect what it would cost for an appetizer for a family. And if you try to eat one on your own? "You have to provide your own Rolaids," Mattox said. In addition to the Ross creation, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy also get some food love. The highlight of the 24-ounce Beltre burger is the bacon and pretzel bun it comes on. Murphy, the club's biggest eater, is being honored with a two-foot long flatbread quesadilla that is topped with the likes of brisket and nacho cheese Doritos to add a touch of color.

Ortiz, Scheppers making Rangers roster

ARLINGTON, Texas The Opening Day roster for the Texas Rangers is filling up quickly. Texas manager Ron Washington announced that both right-hander Tanner Scheppers and left-hander Joe Ortiz had made the team, leaving the Rangers with just one vacant roster spot. Texas will open the season with either an additional outfielder in Julio Borbon or another bullpen arm in either Josh...

Rangers rumors: Interested in trading Julio Bourbon

The Texas Rangers are having trade discussions with other teams about outfielder Julio Bourbon, according to T.R. Sullivan of The Rangers are set to enter the regular season using Leonys Martin and Craig Gentry to platoon in center field. This leaves no room for Bourbon, who is out of options and is expected to get claimed on waivers before being eligible to...

Rangers depending on Yu, other returning pitchers

For the Texas Rangers, the focus is on who stayed in town, rather than who left. At least, that's the approach they're trying to take. There have been some big changes in the Texas lineup since not winning a game last October, particularly the departure of five-time All-Star and former AL MVP Josh Hamilton, now with the AL West rival Los Angeles Angels. Also gone are Michael...

Rangers go deep 4 times to beat Red Devils

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Yu Darvish threw four solid innings in his final tuneup of the preseason and the Texas Rangers hit four home runs to beat the Mexico City Red Devils 12-1 in an exhibition game Thursday night. Darvish mowed down the Mexican League team, allowing just one hit while striking out seven. The Japanese star threw 42 of 52 pitches for strikes and the only hit he...

Rangers 5, Padres 4

There was baseball at the Alamodome, and the dimensions were unique, to say the least. Leonys Martin hit the go-ahead single in the sixth inning as the Texas Rangers edged the San Diego Padres 5-4 in exhibition play Friday night in the first baseball game played in the Alamodome. The teams were scheduled to play again Saturday afternoon in a stadium designed for football - and...

Season Preview: Texas Rangers

After squeeking into the post-season, the Rangers had some serious issues to deal with – Josh Hamilton leaving, missing Zack Greinke, changing the role of Nolan Ryan. Will the team make it back to October baseball? Key Losses: Mike Adams, RHP (Phillies, Free Agent) Ryan Dempster, RHP (Red Sox, Free Agent) Scott Feldman, RHP (Cubs, Free Agent) Josh Hamilton, OF (Angels, Free Agent...

Hamilton ready to lead Angels back to playoffs

Although the Los Angeles Angels gave Josh Hamilton 125 million reasons to switch sides in their lively rivalry with Texas, all that cash didn't buy immediate comfort for the slugger. Now that Hamilton has had an extra-long spring training to settle in, he's ready to lead the Angels' efforts to get back on top in the AL West and beyond. ''It's a little awkward...

MLB 2013: Hamilton, Angels ready to take on Tigers

Josh Hamilton joined forces with Albert Pujols and Mike Trout in Los Angeles, primed to pry the American League pennant from Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez in Detroit. ''They always say, `There's always next year,' and next year is here,'' Angels ace Jered Weaver said. Not so fast, big boys. The Toronto Blue Jays want in, too, and they...

A's chase another division title

The Oakland Athletics know that few will give them a chance to repeat in a division featuring sluggers Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton and Mike Trout making up a loaded lineup for the Los Angeles Angels. Even with almost the same A's roster that pulled off an improbable late-season rally to stun the Texas Rangers on the season's final day last fall. No problem. They're...

Fantasy Baseball: AL West Offseason

LA Angels: New additions Ryan Madison (RP) and Jason Vargas (SP) will both be good options on the mound. Vargas, who put together a solid season on the Mariners staff last season, should see a spike in the wins column with the added run support. But, of course, the big story here is Josh Hamilton (OF). While he is a big injury risk, he is also one of the best power hitters out...
