MLB Injury News:
The Texas Rangers and their fans will not have much longer to wait before seeing Joakim Soria make his season debut. The longtime Kansas City Royals closers is nearing a return, and he could be back as soon as the All-Star break. This would mark the first time he has pitched for the Rangers since they took a chance and signed the recovering 29-year old.
For those who asked, Joakim Soria should make his #Rangers debut around the All-Star break.

Soria missed the entire 2012 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He was supposed to be ready for the start of this season, so the Rangers went out and signed him to a free agent deal. However, Soria took longer to heal than expected and suffered some setbacks that caused him to stay on the DL.

Now, more than a year and a half removed from surgery, he is finally getting close to a return. Even though he might not be able to single-handedly help the Rangers maintain first place, his spot at the back of the bullpen will be important. The Rangers have a solid pitching staff overall, but they can improve their bullpen no doubt. Soria's track record suggests he'll do just that.
In his career, Soria has made 298 appearances in five seasons. In that time he has 160 saves and a 2.40 ERA. If he can bring some of the dominant stuff that helped him rack up those numbers, the Rangers will be in good shape.

It's amazing the difference seven days can make in a 162-game baseball season. The Rangers appeared to be falling to the wayside as a playoff contender after dropping six straight games to the Indians and Blue Jays.
In fact, it was the Rangers who helped jump-start the Blue Jays' 11-game winning streak that was finally snapped by the Rays on Monday. But the Rangers managed...
