After Adrian Beltre’s heroics last night, I was disappointed to find out he was not in the lineup (or Seattle) tonight. He remained in Los Angeles for more tests. Apparently, he’s still having intestinal issues. Bummer.
Have no fear … David Murphy is here. It’s just a shame he couldn’t bat more often. Three hits, three RBI. Way to carry the offense tonight, Murph. Is he Mr. July, Mr. August and Mr. September?
Martin Perez got his chance to start tonight. He wasn’t very sharp, but he didn’t fare too poorly (if you consider who was playing third base *cough*Young*cough*). Four runs — but only three earned — on six hits and two walks. Unfortunately, all of that happened in just four innings. I still think Perez is going to be really fun to watch. Just give him more time and experience.
Coming out of the bullpen, Scott Feldman was nails. For three innings, he held the Mariners scoreless. In fact, he only allowed one baserunner in that entire span while striking out fi
