Texas Rangers right-hander Alexi Ogando is expected to miss four to six weeks with a strained right groin. The Rangers placed Ogando on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, two days after he was hurt while running to first base on a bunt single at San Francisco. Ogando had thrown three perfect innings in his first start of the season in place of lefty Derek Holland, who is on the DL with shoulder fatigue. Ogando is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 34 2-3 innings. His first 27 appearances were in relief. The Rangers recalled left-hander Michael Kirkman from Triple-A Round Rock to take Ogando's roster spot.

Harrison, Adams and Nathan hold Diamondbacks scoreless

Remember what I said about the rotation being a mess last night?  Yeah, well, apparently Matt Harrison took offense to that and decided to remind us all that he is not a mess. Tonight, Harrison was outstanding. That six-pitch first inning was just a taste of what we’d see the rest of the game.  He pitched 7.1 innings of six-hit, no-run baseball.  And he didn’t want to stop...

Lewis goes the distance in 9-1 win

Now, that’s more like it.  What I saw of tonight’s game looked a lot more like the team I enjoy watching.  I won’t say “know and love” because I love my Rangers unconditionally … even when they’re really hard to like.  But right  now, they’re back to being likeable. They took two of three from the Giants over the weekend, and they came out swinging against the...
