Rays’ Ben Zobrist will be a part of the World Baseball Classic

The Tampa Bay Rays are on record saying they do not like the idea of sending starting pitchers to pitch in the World Baseball Classic. But for a position player, it’s a different story.  Today, Rays utility man Ben Zobrist was added to Team USA’s roster. Another member of the Rays will be participating in the tournament, closer Fernando Rodney. However, Rodney will be pitching for his native country the Dominican Republic. Zobrist will be joined on the team by divisional foes Mark Teixeira of the Yankees, Adam Jones of the Orioles, and J.P. Arencibia of the Blue Jays.
