Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon took a stiff shot at the Boston Red Sox.
After new Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine announced that alcohol will no longer be allowed in the clubhouse, Maddon said that his team will continue to have adult beverages available to the players.
"We're not the Boston Red Sox," Maddon told the Tampa Bay Times.
"I've said it a hundred times. For me at the end of the day, I'd much prefer our players making good decisions, and if you're of legal age, and the game is over, and you've sweated and lost a bunch of pounds and you want to sit down and have a beer, I see nothing wrong with that."
Boston's decision to ban alcohol comes in the wake of rumors that Red Sox pitchers were drinking in the clubhouse last season.
