(Photo by Mitchell Layton/Getty Images) Jon Lester lost his 4th straight, as the Orioles win the 4-game series with the 6-3 victory over the Sox. Things were going great for the first 2 1/2, and by great, I mean it was tied 0-0. Chris Davis hit a 2-run homer off of Lester in the 3rd as part of a 3-run inning and the O's added another 2 in the fifth. The Red Sox could not fight back from the deficit. The Sox remained scoreless until a 3-run homer from Will Middlebrooks in the 7th, which was one of only 2 extra base hits for the team on the afternoon. The O's added another insurance run in the bottom of the inning which led to the final of 6-3. As said, Jon Lester dropped his 4th straight, but did tie a season high in strikeouts with 8. Lester went 5, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, all earned. Tazawa surrendered the 6th run in the 7th. Miller and Beato made up for the rest of the bullpen appearances, pitching a combined 2 2/3 scoreless innings. The Orioles are only 1 1/2 games behind the Sox for first place in the AL East. That's too damn close. Box Score
