The Sox have begun to figure things out as they have won 3 straight and win the series with a convincing 12-1 victory over the Indians.  We talked about good pitching being contagious in the dump, and it proved to be true.Daniel Bard went 6 innings, gave up 6 hits, 1 earned run, srtuck out 2, and pitched around 4 walks. The walks were concerning, but he didn't allow the Indians to capitalize on the free passes. Albers, Hill, and Atchison combined for 3 score-less innings and 5 K's, and one hit surrendered by Atchison.

The offense was the bigger story in this game. The Sox came out firing, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first. After Sweeney and Pedroia made the first two outs of the inning, an Ortiz walk and a Gonzo double, lead to a Middlebrooks RBI single and Nava RBI double. Two batters later, Salty drove in Middlebrooks and Nava to begin his huge day. Will Middlebrooks continued his tear in the majors by homering in the third to give the Sox a 5-1 lead. Salty Drove in another run in the 6th, and wasn't done. The Sox added 6 in the bottom of the 7th, shelling old friend, Dan Wheeler. Pedey doubled and scored on an Ortiz single. The double by Pedey extended his league best 14-game hitting streak. Daniel Nava drove in 2 later in the inning and was driven home by, you guessed it, Jarrod Saltalamacchia by way of a homer to center. That did it for the offense.

This was a great gift to all the mothers watching and Bobby Valentine on his 62nd birthday.
