I’m sorry I cannot even get that worked up about this game–I guess 2 days off this late in the season does more harm than good–because the Sox seemed kind of sluggish to me last night.  Missing opportunities (like the bases loaded in the 7th inning, and NO ONE scoring, and the 2-13 with runners in scoring position) and while Lackey didn’t completely spit the bit, and even went 7 innings, he too was just…eh… His line: 119 pitches, 75 for strikes, giving up 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits (including a homer) while walking 4, hitting a batter, and striking out 3… And, so I really think that he hit Cervelli in the back? Not really. Just because he chose to celebrate his homer LIKE A 6 YEAR OLD GIRL, why would that make Lackey mad? And truly, hitting Cervelli is like hitting Doug Mirabelli–not far enough up the food chain to matter… But it was a nice touch that Mo defended his battery mate, and hit Saltalamacchia for him… ...
