MLB Injury News:
The Red Sox and Jacoby Ellsbury have mutual interest in getting a new contract worked out and a report said that he may be looking for a Carl Crawford type of contract. Crawford, for the record, had signed a $142 million contract with the Red Sox three years ago. While he may be looking for a big contract, his chances of getting a big contract may be starting to go down.
Jacoby Ellsbury isn't in today's Red Sox lineup and he "may miss significant time"with a right foot injury, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe. Here is Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal with more:
Clarification: #RedSox’s Ellsbury not certain to fly to Denver. Second opinion may simply come from exchange of films, conversations, etc.

While Ellsbury may miss significant time, nothing at this point is known about how serious his foot injury is. Ellsbury may need to go to Denver for more tests on his foot, but that isn't certain to happen.
Ellsbury will likely miss a couple of weeks, but the Red Sox are currently trying to determine whether or not this is something he can play through, according to Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington. On the season, Ellsbury is hitting .299 with eight home runs and 52 RBI's. Ellsbury is most likely going to return to the Red Sox at some point, but when he will return, is unknown.
