Boston Red Sox left fielder Carl Crawford hit off a batting tee Tuesday and reported no problems with his surgically repaired left wrist. Two days after Boston manager Bobby Valentine said Crawford could miss the first few weeks of the season, Crawford said he was ahead of schedule in his rehab from last month's surgery. "I might surprise some people, you never know," Crawford said. "I have to make sure I don't have any setbacks but everything feels good right now." Crawford was not expected to be ready for the start of the season after having remove cartilage removed from his wrist. He struggled in the first year of a seven-year, $142 million deal with Boston, batting a career-low .255 with 11 home runs and 56 RBIs. Crawford also stole only 18 bases, his lowest total since his rookie season with Tampa Bay in 2002.
