The Boston Red Sox will have some very exciting prospects making their way to the big leagues in the not-so-distant future.

Boston's farm system has taken a major step forward over the last few years and is now one of the best in baseball. The Red Sox currently have the fourth-best farm system in baseball according to FanGraphs.

The Red Sox's farm system has improved as quickly as it has thanks to much-improved depth. Soon enough, some of these prospects will make their way toward Fenway Park and two exciting prospects got one step closer Monday. Boston reportedly promoted No. 2 prospect Roman Anthony and No. 4 prospect Kyle Teel to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, according to MiLB Central.

Anthony has had a meteoric rise up the Red Sox farm system rankings since being drafted in the second round of the 2022 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft. The 19-year-old began the 2023 campaign with the Class-A Salem Red Sox and has had two promotions. First to the High-A Greenville Drive, and now to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. Overall, Anthony has slashed .265/.396/.459 with 13 home runs, 56 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases this season.

Teel was drafted in the first round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft and already has two promotions under his belt. The 21-year-old began his professional career with the Red Sox's Florida Complex League club and was promoted to the High-A Greenville Drive before his promotion to Portland. The young catcher has appeared in 17 games so far this season and is slashing .383/.493/.500 to go along with one home run and 11 RBIs.

Now Anthony and Teel both are two promotions away from the big leagues.
