The Boston Red Sox have placed shortstop Stephen Drew on the
seven-day disabled list for concussions, the team has announced.

Drew was hit on the helmet by a pitch during a March 7
spring training contest and hasn’t played since. He’s been dealing with dizziness,
headaches and other post-concussions symptoms.
Concussions can be tricky, as you have to look no further
than Baltimore Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts or Minnesota Twins slugger
Justin Morneau. Hopefully Drew is able to return sooner than later, but he’s
still experiencing symptoms and a return date hasn’t yet been set.
With Drew to start the season on the DL, the Red Sox will
use Jose Iglesias as their regular at shortstop.
