The Tampa Bay Rays were in the middle of a beatdown on Friday night, when the Red Sox decided to hit back -- literally. The Red Sox and Rays got themselves tangled up in a benches clearing brawl on Friday night, and one so exhillirating that even the bench coaches were getting all amped up. After Dustin Pedroia was beaned in the back during the sixth inning, Red Sox pitche Franklin Morales made a point of it to retalliate by hitting Rays' DH Luke Scott. An unhappy Scott started heading towards the mound in a fit of anger but a...

  • Lets get this stright... He was not going to the mound "in a fit of anger". He looked to be more or less calm. And you said "Rays center fielder B.J. Upton could even be seen mouthing off to Red Sox fans." Truth is, it was the fans that were "mouthing off" to him. I am a huge sox fan but let the truth be the truth. The "beaning" of Dustin Pedroia was a accident. No way would the Rays want to pitch to Ortiz. Our pitcher went out of his way to hit Scott. I just wish we would admit it. It is a sad fact that we are loosing... we should try to loose in style, then we can turn this thing around with class.
  • You are NO sox fan. You are just another front runner Rays phony posting on this site. The Rays have no major league ballpark, no major league payroll and NO titles. So win something before you start mouthing off.
  • Another Rays loser posting nonsense. They hit Pedey on purpose, no other way to explain where he got hit. Maddon, another mgr never to win anything, is prone to hitting players while in the lead. The Sox just sent a message back protecting their little engine that could. Nice job Morales and if it happens again keep drilling those losers until those thick headed losers get the message. This from a team with no fans and no titles. How disgraceful the Rays team, organization and fans are. b J Upton the loafer mouthing off the sox fans? Why don't you grow a pair and go outside after the game if your so tough. What a POS this guy is.
  • I am so glad a sox fan wrote the above!! As I was reading the article I couldn't believe how irresponsible and misleading it was to the actual events. As far as both sides getting in a few swings, I didn't see one punch thrown and lastly to use the word "melee" is a gross exaggeration.
  • Another loser Rays fan. Try winning something before you open your trap. You've been losers every of your existence so why don't you just STFU!
  • What the hell is a looser?
