The Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher John Maine on a minor league contract, according to the Fredericksburg Freelance-Star.The 30-year-old hasn't pitched since 2010 when he made nine starts for the New York Mets. The Red Sox are planning to use Maine as a reliever according to the pitcher's agent, Rex Gary.Maine has a career record of 41-36, posting an ERA of 4.35 in 108 games.His best season was in 2007 when he went 15-10 with a 3.91 ERA for the Mets.
