The Boston Red Sox have a big celebration planned for Friday’s 100th birthday of Fenway Park.

All living uniformed personnel that could be tracked down were invited to the festivities, and even former manager Terry Francona changed his tune and decided to join. Hoping to spoil the event will be the rival New York Yankees, who are already 2 ½ games ahead of slumping Boston.

While the Red Sox will be celebrating their history, there is not much to cheer in the present, as the team is already onto its second three-game losing streak of the young campaign.

They were outscored 24-6 in a two-game series by the Texas Rangers earlier this week and have questions up and down the roster with the possible exceptions of David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Adrian Gonzalez.

The Yankees have yet to enjoy that pitching strength that they brought in over the winter but have covered it over with the bats. Derek Jeter is off to a strong start and Curtis Granderson hit three homers in a 5-for-5 effort on Thursday.
