Danny Valencia is switching addresses once again. After coming to the Red Sox from the Twins in a midseason trade, the Red Sox traded the third baseman to the Orioles on Wednesday afternoon in exchange for cash considerations. Valencia, 28, appeared in 44 games last season — 34 for the Twins and 10 for the Red Sox — and hit .188 with three home runs and 21 RBIs. Other than filling in briefly for the injured Will Middlebrooks in September, Valencia spent the majority of the season shuffling between the majors and Triple-A. It’s been a sudden drop for Valencia, who performed at a high level for the Twins in 2011. That season, he delivered 15 home runs and 72 RBIs in 154 games as the team’s starting third baseman. Valencia, who played a key role in the Pawtucket Red Sox’ postseason run to the Governor’s Cup in 2012, will attempt to regain his 2011 form with the Orioles.
