Clay Buchholz has become the best pitcher in the Red Sox rotation after years of disappointment
I never was a huge fan of Clay Buchholz. He started his Red Sox career with a no-hitter and every body who sort of followed the Boston Red Sox thought that they had an ace in the hole. Forget for a second that there have been plenty of middle of the road pitchers who have pitched no-hitters...
Daniel Nava hit a three run homer in the bottom of the seventh was all that Clay Buchholz needed as the Red Sox have won their third straight, beating the Orioles, 3-1.
It was a pitcher's duel between Buchholz and Wei-Yin Chen, as both of them only allowed a couple of singles and walks until the seventh when Dustin Pedroia started the rally with a single and Mike Napoli getting...
For those of you in search of a sneaky source of two-start pitchers for the coming week, consider your search over. This is the jackpot. Below are several pitchers available in many leagues that will help you dominate the competition for the next seven days. The Boston Red Sox, now winners of five of their first seven games, are cruising on the shoulders of their top two pitchers: Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz.
Is it too early for the Red Sox to give manager...
Jon Lester was the Red Sox’ Opening Day starter, and he’s considered the team’s ace in the minds of many. Clay Buchholz, the starter for Monday’s home opener, continues to match the southpaw step for step.
Buchholz tossed seven shutout innings against the Orioles on Monday. It marks the second straight outing Buchholz has gone seven innings, and he and Lester now hold a combined...

Clay Buchholz followed Jon Lester‘s strong performance Sunday with seven shutout innings of his own Monday afternoon, which bodes well for the Red Sox’ starting staff this year.
After sputtering last season, the starters will now be under the tutelage of John Farrell in Boston, which many onlookers theorized would result in a return to form that the Sox badly needed. With John...
The Red Sox have started off hot, winning four of six games on the road and bringing victory to Fenway in Monday’s 3-1 win over the Orioles. The Sox have now won nine straight home openers, the longest streak among all active major league teams. They did so on Monday behind the arm of Clay Buchholz and the bat of Daniel Nava.
Buchholz threw for seven shutout innings in the win...
The Red Sox kicked off their home schedule in a big way on Monday.
Fenway Park has been known to give the Red Sox a major home-field advantage over the years, but last season was much different, as Boston struggled mightily in front of the home crowd. Fenway was bumping on Monday, though, and it’s clear that this year’s team is already winning folks over.
And how could it not...

The First Pitch
Paul Maholm and Clay Buchholz followed up solid season debuts with excellent second starts yesterday. They each went seven innings, allowed no runs and got a win. As a result, their ownership percentages are on the rise. But should you hop on the bandwagon and add them? Yes and no.
Yes to Maholm. He’s obviously going to give up some runs at some point, but...
The Red Sox did something they weren’t able to do much of last year; send the Fenway faithful home happy. In their home opener, the Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3-1, behind a very strong outing by starter Clay Buchholz, 2-0, and a Daniel Nava 7th inning 3-run home run.
With the game scoreless in the 7th, and Buchholz done for the day, the Red Sox offense was able to get...
