OAKLAND, Calif. -- It was only fitting that Josh Reddick, who has quickly become a fan favorite, got the game winning hit for the Oakland Athletics. Reddick's double in the bottom of the 13th scored Jemile Weeks from first base as the Athletics outlasted the Seattle Mariners 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. "It shows we never give up," Reddick said. "We've got a lot of young guys and we've got a lot of energy to last these long games. We're not going to give up no matter what the score is. We felt like it was a good game for us to have and we had some opportunities. We battled until the end and it worked out." Weeks had singled to right off Oliver Perez before Reddick delivered the game-winner, also off Perez. The win was the major-league-best eighth walkoff win for the Athletics and the second of this series. "It was big for us and we've been fighting all year," Weeks said. "We've had some ups and downs, but ...

Josh Reddick makes the catch of the year
Oakland Athletics right fielder Josh Reddick made an amazing catch on Sunday against the Mariners, robbing Ichiro Suzuki of an extra base hit in the top of the third inning.
Reddick got an excellent first step on the drive to right center, and completed the play by making a superman dive with full extension. The grab kept Ichiro off the bases, while keeping the game at just a 3...
Athletics Josh Reddick Makes Ridiculous Catch (video)
The term catch of the year play of the year gets tossed around way to loosely in sports. However, I do like pointing out the occasional play that really is worthy of being considered in ...

Josh Reddick Makes Sensational Diving Play to Rob Ichiro Suzuki of a Hit (Video)
Josh Reddick is having an excellent first season in Oakland, and his success hasn't just been at the plate. The Athletics outfielder, who blasted 20 first-half home runs, made a fantastic play to rob Ichiro Suzuki of a hit on Saturday night in Oakland. With Ichiro's speed, he would have been looking at at least a double, perhaps more if it managed to roll to the wall. Reddick...
Athletics 2, Mariners 1(13)
Josh Reddick hit a game-ending RBI double in the 13th inning to send the Oakland Athletics into the All-Star break with a .500 record by beating the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.

Oakland Oaks and Joe "Migraine" Magrane
Spending an afternoon watching the MLB Network's MLB Tonight (which just made this sentence an oxymoron) can make a
viewer very restless. If Mitch Williams is one of the "analysts," then it is not watchable. Dan
Plesac is slightly better. One of the worst but slightly above those two dudes just mentioned,
is Joe "Migraine" Magrane, the former pitcher for...
A's back at .500 despite offensive shortcomings
The Oakland A's weren't expected to be potential contenders, but after winning 22 of their final 34 games before the break and getting back to the .500 mark with a 2-1 win in 13 innings over Seattle on Sunday, the club is feeling good about itself. Oakland's pitching, in particular, has been superb, which has the A's believing they can contend in the second half...

A's three trades of last winter paying dividends
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JANIE McCAULEY AP Baseball Writer Just like that last winter, the Oakland Athletics traded away three of their best pitchers: All-Stars Trevor Cahill and Gio Gonzalez, and 2009 Rookie of the Year closer Andrew Bailey.
And in came a crop of new names few people even knew in Josh Reddick, Derek Norris, Tommy Milone and Jarrod Parker...
The Best Seasons by Ex-Athletics
From 1971-1975, the Oakland A’s won five straight division titles and won three consecutive world titles from 1972-1974.
Then, a funny thing happened: free agency. Marvin Miller successfully argued that A’s owner Charlie Finley had violated the terms of Catfish Hunter’s contract, thus making a free agent, free to negotiate with any team. Baseball’s reserve clause was history...
