With the trade deadline looming just over two weeks away, the Reds and Rockies struck a deal on Monday that will reportedly send RHP Armando Galarraga to Colorado in exchange for minor league RHP Parker Frazier.

The Rockies announced today that they completed a trade with the Cincinnati Reds, acquiring RHP Armanda Galarraga in exchange for RHP Parker Frazier. Galarraga will report to Triple-A Colorado Springs.Galarraga, 31, has spent the entire season with Triple-A Louisville where he has gone 6-6 with a 2.98 ERA (84.2 ip, 28 er) over 16 starts. He has appeared in 100 career Major League games, 91 were starts, with Texas, Detroit, Arizona and Houston going 26-34 with a 4.78 ERA (542.0 ip, 288 er). In 2008 with Detroit, he went 13-7 with a 3.73 ERA (178.2 ip, 74 er) over 30 games/28 starts and finished fourth in the American League’s Rookie of the Year voting.
