The Cincinnati Reds had a guest bat boy Ted Kremer, a 30-year-old with Down syndrome, for their game on Thursday night in Cincinnati. Ted performed his duties flawlessly and was also the recipient of a special granted wish. Before the game Ted had asked third baseman Todd Frazier to hit a home run for him. Frazier recalls the moment: “He’s so funny, he said, ‘C’mon, hit me a home run, I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you too, I’ll hit you one.” In the sixth inning Kremer got his wish when Frazier launched a 421-foot home run which you can see below. Frazier knew as he rounded the bases that Kremer would be the first person to greet him, and he was. “It was great how excited — that look,” Frazier said. “I started smiling even before I hit home plate because I knew it. They said he forgot to pick the bat up, so the umpire was yelling at him. It was such a great a great guy. You can’t get mad — even if you have a terrible day. How can you be mad when you’ve g...

This will be one of if not the best home run of the season--and yes, I am saying that with a 145 or so games left for all 30 MLB teams. In Thursday night's contest against the Miami Marlins Reds third baseman did something that you don't see many people do. He promised the team's batboy, Ted Kremer, a home run.

Tony Cingrani will make his Major League debut tonight for the Cincinnati Reds against the Miami Marlins in Cincinnati. I will be in attendance thanks to an awesome deal on tickets through stubhub (section 134 for $9 – this section begins at $40.00 right now through Reds.com with their dynamic pricing).
The Reds drafted Tony Cingrani in the 3rd round of the 2011 draft...
When the Reds game ended tonight, Todd Frazier’s OPS sat exactly on the beautiful .900 number.
He has become a middle of the order hitter, and he’s done it his way just like Sinatra. The Toddfather’s way is **** swings. Borderline flailing at pitches. Wasting a guy’s best stuff with your worst. When he’s not suspecting it and his back is turned, you pull out your Tommy...
At 5:30 p.m. yesterday the Reds and Phillies took the field to complete the game from the day before. Only the bottom of the ninth needed to be played for a regulation game, so the Reds were up to bat first in front of a crowd of literally tens of people. It makes sense that people didn’t come out: it might have taken a little as one pitch to finish off the game in a...
CINCINNATI So who needs Johnny Cueto? Not the Cincinnati Reds. Not at this moment, anyway. The starting pitching is above reproach, even with Cueto residing on the disabled list. What the starting staff of Bronson Arroyo, Mat Latos, Homer Bailey, Mike Leake and Tony Cingrani need is a little help from their friends carrying baseball bats to home plate. After Bronson Arroyo gave them...

He rebounded in his most recent start going 5 full innings with just 2 earned, 2 runs, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. I went back and watched his first and last starts this week. His fastball velocity is down a little bit from...
MLB News: On Thursday the Cincinnati Reds recalled reliver Tony Cingrani from Triple-A Louisville, swapping out Justin Freeman for him. Cingrani gets his first major league start Thursday night after dominating Triple-A talent early on this year. Freeman, who was called up a few days ago had enough time to enjoy a quick cup of coffee and nothing else.
Fantasy Ramifications: Not that...
Cincinnati Reds right-handed starting pitcher Johnny Cueto hit the disabled list earlier this week due to a lat strain. Initially, the team was optimistic that he would only be required to miss a few starts. However, Cincinnati still doesn't know when Cueto will resume throwing, according to John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Reds trainer Paul Lessard told reporters that...
Tony Cingrani mowing down Marlins batters. What a game that was yesterday! It’s amazing how a four-game winning streak makes you forget all about a five-game losing streak. It’s almost as if winning cures all.
Except for criticizing Joey Votto, but that’s lead to a fabulous new meme.
Yesterday had everything. Good pitching, good offense, and a feel-good story about a bat boy...
