The Cincinnati Reds acquired minor league prospects OF Bill Rhinehart and LHP Chris Manno from the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, in exchange for OF Jonny Gomes and cash considerations. Gomes, a free agent at year's end, has hit .211 with 11 homers and 31 RBI's in 265 plate appearances with the Redlegs in '11. The left-handed hitting and throwing Rhinehart was having a breakout season in Double-A Harrisburg, batting .283 with 21 homers and 59 RBI's in 89 games. The 26-year old is in his fifth professional season (all in the minors). Manno, a native of Brooklyn, has posted a stingy 1.04 ERA and 12 saves in his 41 1/3 IP with Single-A Hagerstown in 2011. The 22-year old was drafted by Washington in the 26th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft and is currently in his second professional season.
