The Reds are interested in acquiring the services of outfielder Michael Bourn, according to this report by CBS Sports. It suggests that Cincinnati isn't considered the favorite to land Bourn - that title belongs to the Washington Nationals - but they are expected to make a solid run at him. The 29-year old free agent boasted an on-base percentage of .348 last season to go along with 42 stolen bases, 26 doubles, and 96 runs scored. That production would be a major upgrade over what Dusty Baker and the Reds received out of their No. 1 hitter in 2012. Reds leadoff hitters ranked dead last in the league in average (.208), OBP (.254), OPS (.581), hits (146), RBI (38), stolen bases (10), and walks (37) last year. Plus, Bourn brings to the table Gold Glove caliber defense - he has two to his credit in his career - with top notch speed. His 42 bags in '12 ranked second in the National League.
