Cingrani is no longer donning the orange and black of the Blaze.
Tony Cingrani was promoted to Pensacola, following his extraordinary start in Bakersfield. He picked up right where he left off, tossing 6.2 innings of two-run baseball in his double-A debut. Billy Hamilton is still running wild with 63 stolen bases, while playing in 55 of Bakersfield's 58 games. That puts him on an astronomical pace to steal something like 151 bases in 132 games played, though he'll probably end up playing a few more games than that barring injury.
CF Bryson Smith and LHP Donnie Joseph were named the Reds Minor League Players of the Month of May.

I will be updating this post with information for each of the players throughout the day, then creating a new post for the players who are drafted in Rounds 9-16 later.
The second day of the draft has less pomp and circumstance than the first, and a lot more picks as well. Still, you must memorize their names so that, in four or five years when one of them busts out, you can say you had a good feeling about them back when they were drafted.

CINCINNATI For most of this season, Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker hasn't had to reshuffle the deck and ask for a new deal when it came to his position players.
He did lose veteran third baseball Scott Rolen to an always-lurking shoulder problem and Brandon Phillips encountered hamstring issued, but grinned, bore it and played through it.
Now, though, an issue has arisen...
THROUGH THE OTHERSIDE
The Red Hot Chili Peppers took batting practice at Great American Ballpark with, naturally, the Cincinnati Reds.
The Reds called up utility player Kristopher Negron from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, giving them another outfielder while Drew Stubbs recovers from a pulled muscle in his side.
Negron played every outfield position in the minors. He batted .212 with five homers and 15 stolen bases at Louisville.
Infielder Mike Costanzo was optioned to Triple-A Louisville. Costanzo appeared...
The Reds dropped the series opener to the Pirates in spectacular form, 8-4. Homer Bailey, who previously owned the Pirates, got totally lit up.
Tonight Johnny Cueto (5-3, 2.54 ERA) goes out for revenge. He’s facing off against Brad Lincoln (3-0, 1.04 ERA). Cueto’s been good and Cueto’s been bad the last few starts, but we really need good Cueto tonight...
Prior to his NL MVP season in 2010, there were many baseball fans who had never heard of Joey Votto. The Reds first baseman is one of the best hitters in the National League, and he’s off to a hot start once again this year even after signing a whopping 10-year, $225 million extension. In addition to a .315 career batting average, Votto’s career has also been highlighted by some...

Chapman, warming up before a spring training start in Scottsdale
Is Aroldis Chapman the best pitcher in baseball?
According to the F12 Rating, he is. Chapman has a 32.960 F12, almost two full points ahead of the second ranked pitcher, Gio Gonzalez.
Dusty Baker and the Cincinnati Reds have made the hard-throwing Cuban their closer, and Chapman has excelled. His fastball famously...
The Redlegs (30-24) were back home after an off-day on Monday to take on the second place Pirates (28-26). Homer Bailey took the ball matched up against righty A.J. Burnett, who in his last time out against the Reds pitched pretty well. It was a game that saw the teams offense come out in the first inning and score two runs early on a Votto single and a Bruce sacrifice fly. The...
Thursday night was the Reds' 56th game. They've used only five starting pitchers. That's deepest the Reds gone into the season only using five since 1992. "Well, that's the secret of any winning team," Reds manager Dusty Baker said before Thursday's 5-4, 10-inning loss to Pittsburgh. "You have a tremendous amount of depth and there...
