Alex Rodriguez may have spent Opening Day in the Bronx, but just days later, he was back to other pursuits during his long rehab from hip surgery. Rodriguez was spotted in the Dominican Republic last Saturday courting his new love interest, Rebeca Yunen Finke, Diario Libre reports. The 24-year-old is an honors graduate in business administration at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in the Santiago province of the Dominican Republic, according to the report. Finke comes from a rather connected family. “Her father is the well known businessman Alberto Yunen Zouain, and her mother is Pamen Finke, a distinguished lady for Puetro Plata,” Diario Libre reports. “Rebeca is the niece of Rafael Emilio Yunen, the director of the Centro Leon.” Finke’s father reportedly picked up Rodriguez at the airport over the weekend and took him to the presidential suite of the Gran Almirante Hotel, where he was not registered under his own name. Rodriguez and Finke met about six months ago, Diario Libre reports. Dating a young woman from his home country is a bit of a change for Rodriguez, who has been known to go after big-name stars. But with plenty of time — and freedom to travel and leave his many problems behind — as he rehabs from hip surgery, this may be the perfect time for Rodriguez to turn over a new leaf.
