Pro Sports Daily:
Left-hander Jeff Francis, released by the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, could wind up with the Colorado Rockies. Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd apparently is interested in the free agent, MLB.com reported. Francis, 31, asked out of his minor-league with the Reds after posting a 3-6 record with a 3.72 ERA for Triple-A Louisville. His latest start was a shutout against Durham on Sunday. The Mets also might be interested in Francis, MLB.com reported. Francis is a former No. 1 pick by the Rockies who posted a 55-50 record in six seasons with the club.

Fastball – Has gotten as high as 99 MPH, sits 92-95.
Slider – Good pitch with late breaking action on it.
Change up – It needs some work, but flashes itself as a solid pitch at times.
THROUGH THE OTHERSIDE
The Red Hot Chili Peppers took batting practice at Great American Ballpark with, naturally, the Cincinnati Reds.
Former Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Pedro Borbon died Monday from complications of cancer, the team announced. He was 65. Borbon is the Reds leader in career pitching appearances with 531, and from 1970 through 1978, he appeared in more games than any other National League pitcher. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2010. "He may have been the most...

The Reds set themselves up for a series sweep last night by winning the second game against the Astros, 12-9.
Mat Latos started for the Reds against notorious Reds killer, Wandy Rodriguez. However, Latos was in true April form and turned out to be closer to a Reds killer than his opponent. In 3.1 innings of work, he allowed 7 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and a walk. Then came the parade...
It’s just like two years never passed, and not just because the Reds are atop the division again (albeit feeling much less green this time around). I’m also talking about my RHM inbox, which features four emails that I’ve been holding on to since 2010. I was neck-deep in MBA coursework then, so I just held on to them thinking, “someday…”
I figure it’s now or never...
It was a solid series, but the Reds just couldn’t put together the sweep last night as they lost to the Astros 3-5. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have been getting beaten up by the Mets, putting the Pittsburgh Pirates in second place when I woke up this morning.
The Reds are off today; it’s their second off-day in less than a week. Tomorrow they host those second...
After their second day off in a week (seems like the Reds
are dogging it after 20 straight days with a game), Cincy welcomes in Pittsburgh
to GABP. Ah, the Pirates, it seems like they’re an old friend with as much as
these two teams have played lately. Let’s check out the pitching match-ups,
