In old and completely beaten into the ground news, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is an idiot. This time, though, it is from overruling his General Manager and Manager and dictating on the field lineup changes. Wait, the owner is doing this, you ask. Yes, the owner. The same scumbag who ruined the once proud Montreal Expos only to get a free pass and somehow be allowed to ruin another Major League franchise, is now acting as baseball’s version of Jerry Jones, equipped with an equally creepy tan. Loria personally directed a lineup change that flip-flopped starting pitchers Jose Fernandez and Ricky Nolasco in Tuesday’s doubleheader. Reportedly this, along with his other constant meddling with on-field decisions, has left Marlins’ players furious with the owner. Loria wanted Fernandez, the 20-year-old phenom, to pitch during the day game, when the weather would be warmer. In a truly karmic twist, the weather was warmer during the night game. Baseball tradition usually allows the veteran pitcher to choose which game of a double-header he will pitch in. Tradition doesn’t mean jack to Loria though. Come on, have you seen that stadium?
