The Boston Red Sox have been trying to acquire closer Joakim Soria from the Kansas City Royals without success. WEEI.com in Boston, citing multiple sources, reported that Kansas City's asking price is too high for the Red Sox. Boston has been seeking bullpen help after longtime closer Jonathan Papelbon signed a four-year contract with Philadelphia. The Red Sox acquired Houston Astros closer Mark Melancon in a trade earlier this week.
