The Oakland Athletics signed Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to a four-year, $36 million contract today. For a team that was shedding payroll all winter and moved proven young pitching, it is strange to see the team throw out that much money on an unproven outfielder, especially after they picked up a couple of outfielders in trades and free agent signings.
