Boston College has found a new boss. Ohio University men’s basketball coach Jim Christian has agreed in principle to become the new head coach at BC, multiple sources told both ESPN’s Jeff Goodman and Jason Arkley of The Athens Messenger. Christian has posted a 49-21 record in two years at Ohio, leading the Bobcats to the championship game of the Mid-American Conference in 2012-13. He has previously held head coaching jobs at Kent State — where he won MAC coach of the year honors in 2002 and 2008 — and TCU. A native of Bethpage, N.Y., Christian played his college ball in New England, first at Boston University and later at Rhode Island, in the 1980s. Boston College went 8-24 and 4-14 in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season under former head coach Steve Donahue, who was fired in March.
