If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck I'm assuming it's a damn duck. Clearly the Red Sox don't see it that way as the organization is denying any interest in the Detroit Tigers right-hander Rick Porcello. It's been well documented by general manager John Farrell that the Red Sox are looking to add depth to their starting rotation and Porcello could be the key to filling that desire. So what are the Red Sox waiting for? According to FOXsports.com, the Red Sox would be able to satisfy the Tigers’ desire for late-inning relief help by offering Andrew Bailey. The two pitchers’ salaries line up, and the Sox acquired Joel Hanrahan this offseason to become the team’s closer, inherently giving rise to questions about Bailey’s long-term future in Boston. The Red Sox are reportedly reluctant to compromise the depth of their bullpen, though, as it figures to be one of the team’s biggest strengths this season.
