Milwaukee Brewers all star Rickie Weeks severely sprained his ankle in last night's game and is promptly being placed on the DL. This was one of the grossest ankle sprains I've ever seen in my life and I've seen some bad ones. This is a huge hit for the Brew-Crew who just took over sole possession of first place last night in the NL central with a win over the Cubs. Weeks was hitting .272 with 19 home runs and 43 RBI's. With the Cardinals and Pirates right on the heels of the Brewers this injury could put Milwaukee into some serious trouble. The Brewers are going to have to stay in contention without their all star second basemen for the next couple of weeks. If they don't then people are going to come to the games because of the great sausage races! Just make sure Randall Simon isn't playing.Tweet
