CHICAGO (AP) -- Alex Rios hit a two-run homer and the Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 3-2 on Wednesday to stop a four-game losing streak. Jeff Keppinger had two hits and drove in a run for the White Sox, who earned a split of the rain-shortened series. Jose Quintana (2-0) was charged with two runs and four hits in five-plus innings. Rios connected in the fifth, hitting a two-out drive to left on an 0-2 pitch from Zach McAllister. Rios' team-high sixth homer made it 3-0. McAllister (1-3) walked five and allowed five hits in 5 2-3 innings. Four relievers then combined for 2 1-3 innings of hitless ball, giving the Indians a chance to rally. Cleveland's first three batters of the sixth got on base, with Jason Kipnis singling in Drew Stubbs. Nate Jones then replaced Quintana and Mark Reynolds hit a sacrifice fly to cut Chicago's lead to 3-2. Kipnis stole second and third, but Jones struck out Nick Swisher and got Ryan Raburn to fly out to end the inning.

20 Year Anniversary Of Nolan Ryan VS Robin Ventura Bobblehead Doll

Who would have thought ”Keeping It Real Goes Wrong” would apply to Robin Ventura, who was an easy-going ball player in his playing days.  It was the night of August 4, 1993 in old Arlington Stadium, when he was at-bat facing the Hall of Fame pitcher, Nolan Ryan.  Ryan known for his 100 mph fastball plucked Ventura in the back and of course didn’t take to kindly getting...

Chicago White Sox’ Adam Dunn Is Struggling

Adam Dunn needs to move down in the Chicago White Sox batting order as he continues to squander opportunities for the White Sox to generate offense out of the clean-up hole. Let’s put this into perspective, sure it’s only 26 days into the season however Adam Dunn is hitting .097 at this very moment.  He could jump back into the triple digits in average as the game is currently...

White Sox fan tries to eat four pounds of nachos using only his face (video)

Meet Cole Ryan. During Wednesday’s Cleveland Indians-Chicago White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field, this brave young man attempted to eat a whopping four pounds of nachos. You know how you can order nachos served in those mini batting helmets at ballgames? Pshaw! Cole Ryan took on what appears to be a practically regulation size White Sox batting helmet filled with chips, cheese...

It's Early, but White Sox Attendance is Down Again

White Sox 3, Indians 2

A year ago Jose Quintana was just trying to hang on to a spot in Chicago's rotation. Now his position looks pretty secure, especially after helping the White Sox stop a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. ''He's been pitching great,'' White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. ''Maturity-wise, he's just...

April 24: White Sox 3, Indians 2

The offense got off to a positive start Wednesday afternoon, as Jeff Keppinger followed up Alejandro De Aza's leadoff walk and stolen base with an RBI single to left center field. But then, Alex Rios quickly grounded into a double 6-4-3 double play, which was a sign of more to come ... at least for a little while. In the third and fourth innings, the team had two on...

Rays-White Sox Preview

Coming off a rare win, the Chicago White Sox are hoping to keep things going behind Chris Sale. The Tampa Bay Rays are surely feeling good about giving the ball to Jeremy Hellickson, too. After dropping four straight and 10 of their previous...

April 25: White Sox 5, Rays 2

What's this? A win I'm not going to complain about? That's right ... brace yourselves.
