Carlos Gonzalez drove in his first three runs with a homer and double, leading the Colorado Rockies over the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 on Friday. Gonzalez was 2 for 9 going into the game. He lined a two-run double in the third inning and homered off Ariel Pena in the fifth. The All-Star outfielder will play one more game with Colorado before joining Team Venezuela for the World Baseball Classic. The Rockies turned an unusual double play to end the fifth. With Norichika Aoki on first, Jean Segura singled. Right fielder Charlie Blackmon hit cutoff man Reid Brignac in the middle of the diamond, and he threw behind Segura for the out at first. Aoki thought it was the third out and strayed off the bag, and was picked off second.

Fantasy Breakout By Position – Catcher Jonathan Lucroy

One of the challenges when it comes to ranking players by position in fantasy baseball is trying to determine which player is going to have that breakout season and return a profit to your auction buy or draft pick. When reviewing the list of catchers for the 2013 season, my pick to break out is catcher Jonathan Lucroy of the Milwaukee Brewers. Lucroy was on pace for that type of...

Player Profile #52: Aramis Ramirez | 3B | MIL

Aramis Ramirez has been remarkably consistent in his career, posting a .289 average or better and at least 25 homers with 90 RBI in nine of his 12 seasons. His batted profile over the years has averaged out to what I like to call the “perfect power hitter’s batting profile,” which is 19.9 LD%, 35.0 GB%, and 45.1 FB%. The line drive rate is high enough to keep his BABIP rates...

Brewers 4, Angels 3

The injuries are coming in bunches for the Milwaukee Brewers. Aramis Ramirez doubled for his first hit of the spring Saturday but left Milwaukee's 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels with a strained left knee. Ramirez snapped an 0-for-10 start with a bloop double down the left-field line in the third inning. After time was called, he stepped off the bag and was met by the...
