The Colorado Rockies have added second baseman Mark Ellis to the active roster Friday, in time for the team's game against the Kansas City Royals. The Rockies acquired Ellis, who'll bat second, and cash from Oakland on Thursday for minor league pitcher Bruce Billings and a player to be named later. Ellis is batting .217 with 11 doubles, one homer and 16 RBIs in 62 games. Colorado also recalled right-handed pitcher Edger Escalona from Triple-A Colorado Springs and optioned infielders Chris Nelson and Eric Young Jr. to the Sky Sox. The Rockies also announced righty Jhoulys Chacin's scheduled start for Saturday will be pushed back to Tuesday because of soreness in his right forearm. Colorado will recall pitcher Greg Reynolds from Colorado Springs on Saturday to start in Chacin's place.
