Rockies starter Tyler Chatwood is expected to miss at least one start because of pain in his triceps.
Chatwood had to leave a 3-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night after pitching only four innings because of pain in the muscle when he threw his fastball. He flew to Denver on Tuesday and had a medical examination that left the Rockies optimistic there's no serious damage.
He was scheduled for an MRI later in the day.
Manager Walt Weiss said the initial reports on Chatwood were ''pretty good.'' The club will decide what to do after it gets the MRI results. Weiss said it would be tough for Chatwood to make his next scheduled start under the circumstances.

Billy Hamilton is at it again. In a game versus the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens, the Cincinnati Reds prospect, who might give Barry Allen a run for his money if ever given the chance, hit his second inside-the-park home run in the last two years. Let's watch the video. Your browser does not support iframes. (Gotta love watching the center fielder give up on the ball like that...
Starting just his sixth game of the season, Tyler Chatwood was only able to make it through four innings before leaving. He wasn't being roughed up too badly by the Cincinnati Reds. Instead, Chatwood suffered an apparent injury to his arm. It was later confirmed to be his triceps.
Rockies RHP Tyler Chatwood left tonight's game with right triceps soreness. And...
CINCINNATI Around the Redsland environs fans call Todd Frazier the Toddfather, a fitting description for the New Jersey native with the east coast twang and the penchant for Frank Sinatra music. There are no family mafia connections, he says with a laugh, other than he and his relatives loved watching The Sopranos. And he knows nothing about dead horse heads in beds. What he does...
CINCINNATI Sam LeCure has been on a roll this season for the Reds. Its not out of whack to give the right-handed reliever serious consideration as an All-Star even if hes not in the glamour set of closers.
Tuesday night was a bad night for LeCure and it showed how fickle the baseball gods can be.
LeCure gave up a two-run home run to Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki with two...
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Chris Heisey may be ready for a second attempt at a rehab assignment shortly after doing some running over the weekend with no problems. Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports that Heisey ran on Saturday to test the injured right hamstring and was delighted that he had no problems on Sunday.
"It felt incredible," Heisey said on Sunday. "...
The Reds held steady at No. 3 in the latest batch of MLB Power Rankings unveiled Monday by ESPN.com. Cincinnati has now sat there for three weeks in a row.
Entering play on Monday, Dusty Baker's bunch is tied for the third-best record in baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates at 35-22, a team in which they nearly swept over the weekend if it hadn't been for a late-game meltdown...
Bronson Arroyo's first pitch of the game clocked 70 mph on the Great American Ball Park radar gun. The next two came in at 72 and 72 mph.
Nothing special there, except the Rockies couldn't touch `em.

Billy Hamilton hit a go-ahead inside the park home run to help the Louisville Bats to a win on Monday.
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning -- a call changed after the umpires initially ruled fan interference -- and the Colorado Rockies held on for a 5-4 victory Tuesday night that ended their streak of six consecutive losses to the Cincinnati Reds.

You might not remember Ramon Ortiz from his time with the Cincinnati Reds. He was in the starting rotation for the forgettable 2005 team and wasn’t the worst starter–Eric Milton and Luke Hudson were battling for that title. But I do remember his love of cutting the hair of his teammates.
Yesterday, his comeback attempt with the Toronto Blue Jays ended in a spectacularly painful...
Lotsa love going around for Nick Swisher as the Cleveland Indians first baseman made his return visit to Yankees Stadium.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case when the Tribe squared off against the Cincinnati Reds recently. On Memorial Day, Aroldis Chapman unleashed a 100-mph fastball over the head of Swisher.

The Cincinnati Reds may be thrilled to return home, and a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies may only improve their mood.
An injury to Brandon Phillips, however, isn't helping.
With Phillips expected to miss this entire series, the Reds go for their longest winning streak over the Rockies in more than 12 years Monday night.
