Alex Rodriguez rumbled around first base after ripping a liner to the left-field wall in the eighth inning last night only to be thrown out easily at second base. Rodriguez said he’s still rounding into playing form ahead of Monday’s scheduled return to the Yankees, but admitted he’s not going to get much more nimble. “If you were watching on TV, I promise it wasn’t in slow motion,” Rodriguez said after he played in his second rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, a 2-1 loss to Louisville. “It was real speed. That’s how fast I’m moving right now.” Rodriguez chuckled, but that is his — and the Yankees’ — reality after two hip surgeries. The diminished speed is just one of the ways the 37-year-old does not resemble the player the Yankees traded for nearly a decade ago or the one they re-signed to a megabucks contract before the 2008 season.
